Zygomarturus

Zygomarturus was a large, plant-eating marsupial that reached lengths of up to 2.5m and may have weighed up to 500 kg. Similar in appearance to its much larger relative Diprotodon, Zygomarturus is thought to have lived around water, wading into rivers and pools to access the aquatic plants upon which it fed.  In Tasmania Zygomarturus remains are most famously found at Mowbray Swamp in the northwest of the state.
