Zaglossus

Zaglossus was a giant long-nosed echidna that reached about a meter in length. Furrier and less spikey than today’s echidnas, its curved beak may have been used to snout out worms and beetles.

Long-beaked Zaglossus (left) was larger and less spikey than it's still-living relative, the Australian Echidna (right).
